TAP™ was developed based upon scientific research as well as best practices from the fields of education, business and management. The TAP Elements of Success stem from research findings about effective practices in attracting, developing, motivating and retaining the highest quality teachers to the profession, and particularly to high-need schools. The core aspects of TAP are also consistent with best practices in business and industry to develop and motivate employees. These elements are:
- Multiple career paths
- Ongoing applied professional growth
- Instructionally focused accountability
- Performance-based compensation
- Bibliography
The research cited in this section was the basis of TAP. However, during the past decade, additional work has been conducted that continues to support the four elements of the TAP system.
Nancy Rials, Former Principal, Forest Hill Elementary School, Forest Hill, Louisiana
“With TAP, my teachers are not only working harder, but are also working smarter. TAP has enabled Forest Hill Elementary to make great strides in improving student achievement. We have cultivated an environment that establishes high expectations and celebrates their attainment. This gives us a strong sense of community that continually makes us want to raise the bar!”
